I have twenty-five years nursing experience as a Health Care Support Worker in two busy NHS hospitals, with experience in all specialities.
During this time I also worked in care homes and for nursing agencies. Prior to this my job background was very varied whilst bringing up a family.
For the past ten years or so I have become increasingly passionate about the role of complementary therapies in patients' recovery, and the holistic approach to care, which is so often absent from conventional medicine. I completed a two year training course with the NFSH Healing Trust and for six years devoted Fridays to working voluntarily in a thriving drop-in centre, helping people of all ages, from children up to our most elderly regular client of ninety-five! I went on to train in Reiki and to diploma level in Reflexology.
Since retiring from the NHS in 2010 I have concentrated with great enthusiasm on Reflexology, training in advanced post-graduate techniques of Precision Reflexology and VRT (Vertical Reflex Therapy), a particularly powerful yet speedy variation. I never cease to be amazed that such a relaxing foot massage can at the same time produce extremely therapeutic results on all levels of a person's being. At present I am helping clients with problems ranging from cancer and stroke, menopausal symptoms, spine conditions and others purely for stress-relief and general well-being.
